The warmth wave scorching the US is a self-perpetuating monster

Simply weeks after a 3rd of the US inhabitants was hit with air-quality alerts due to smoke from climate-change-fueled fires in Canada, 100 million People at the moment are below warmth alerts. A cap of extra-hot air, referred to as a warmth dome, has settled over the West and South, pushing temperatures relentlessly larger.

The map beneath reveals extreme warmth warnings in purple and warmth advisories in orange, and the forecast is that issues will worsen by means of the weekend. Highs will keep above 110° Fahrenheit in Phoenix; California’s Dying Valley is flirting with 130°; and Texas’ grid is struggling to maintain the AC on.
