Spreadsheet blunders aren’t simply irritating private inconveniences. They’ll have critical penalties. And in the previous few years alone, there have been a myriad of spreadsheet horror tales.
In August 2023, the Police Service of Northern Eire apologized for an information leak of “monumental proportions” when a spreadsheet that contained statistics on the variety of officers it had and their rank was shared on-line in response to a freedom of knowledge request.
There was a second ignored tab on the spreadsheet that contained the private particulars of 10,000 serving cops.
