Twitter confirmed that it eliminated a marketing campaign video President Trump had retweeted Saturday over a copyright grievance. The Linkin Park tune “Within the Finish” was featured within the background of the video, which included pictures of President Trump and excerpts from his inauguration speech.
“Per our copyright coverage, we reply to legitimate copyright complaints despatched to us by copyright proprietor or their licensed consultant,” a Twitter spokesperson stated in an e mail to The Verge on Sunday.
The band tweeted Saturday that it was pursuing a “stop and desist” and that it had not licensed use of its tune within the video: “Linkin Park didn’t and doesn’t endorse Trump.”
