Microsoft is bringing Linux’s sudo command to Home windows 11

Home windows 11 will quickly have a built-in sudo command designed for builders. Sudo, quick for “superuser do,” is broadly used on Unix-based working methods like Linux and macOS to run applications with greater safety privileges or as one other person. It’s helpful for builders wanting to check scripts, for instance.

Microsoft is utilizing sudo inside Home windows to let builders run elevated instruments instantly from an unelevated console session. “It’s an ergonomic and acquainted answer for customers who need to elevate a command with out having to first open a brand new elevated console,” explains Jordi Adoumie, a product supervisor at Microsoft.
