Google CEO says Gemini AI range errors are ‘fully unacceptable’

The traditionally inaccurate photos and textual content generated by Google’s Gemini AI have “offended our customers and proven bias,” CEO Sundar Pichai instructed workers in an inside memo obtained by The Verge.

Final week, Google paused Gemini’s means to generate photos after it was broadly found that the mannequin generated racially various, Nazi-era German troopers, US Founding Fathers who had been non-white, and even inaccurately portrayed the races of Google’s personal co-founders. Whereas Google has since apologized for “lacking the mark” and stated it’s working to re-enable picture era within the coming weeks, Tuesday’s memo is the primary time the CEO has broadly addressed the controversy.
