Apple, Google, and Meta are failing DMA compliance, EU suspects

Not even three weeks after the European Union’s Digital Markets Act (DMA) took impact, the European Fee (EC) introduced Monday that it’s already probing three out of six gatekeepers—Apple, Google, and Meta—for suspected non-compliance.

Apple might want to show that modifications to its app retailer and current consumer choices to swap out default settings simply are enough to adjust to the DMA.

Equally, Google’s app retailer guidelines will likely be probed, in addition to any probably shady practices unfairly preferencing its personal companies—like Google Procuring and Inns—in search outcomes.
