European Union regulators intend to dam Amazon’s try and buy Roomba-maker iRobot, The Wall Avenue Journal reported yesterday.

European Fee competitors officers “met Thursday with representatives from Amazon to debate the deal,” the Journal wrote, citing individuals aware of the matter. “Amazon was advised in the course of the assembly that the deal was prone to be rejected,” in keeping with one of many Journal’s sources.

Amazon introduced the $1.7 billion deal in August 2022. The EC has a February 14 deadline to succeed in a choice. European officers have mentioned that Amazon might limit the provision of Roomba rivals on the Amazon on-line retail retailer.
