48 states sue cellphone firm that allegedly catered to wants of robocallers

Practically each US state yesterday sued a telecom firm accused of routing billions of unlawful robocalls to tens of millions of US residents on the Do Not Name Registry.

Avid Telecom, an Arizona-based firm shaped in 2000, “selected revenue over working a enterprise that conforms to state and federal regulation,” in line with a lawsuit led by Arizona AG Kris Mayes and joined by the attorneys basic of 47 different states and the District of Columbia. The case includes each US state besides Alaska and South Dakota.

The lawsuit was filed in US District Courtroom for the District of Arizona towards Avid Telecom, CEO Michael Lansky, and VP of Operations and Gross sales Stacey Reeves. The lawsuit arises from work executed by the Anti-Robocall Multistate Litigation Activity Drive of 51 attorneys basic.
