Twitch banned the favored PogChamp emote Wednesday after the individual depicted in it revealed tweets “encouraging additional violence” following a riot on the US Capitol.

“We’ve made the choice to take away the PogChamp emote following statements from the face of the emote encouraging additional violence after what occurred within the Capitol as we speak,” Twitch mentioned in a press release Wednesday night. “We would like the sentiment and use of Pog to dwell on — its that means is far larger than the individual depicted or picture itself — and it has an enormous place in Twitch tradition. Nevertheless, we will’t in good conscience proceed to allow use of the picture.”
