Common Music Group (UMG) has began eradicating the music catalogs of performers the label represents — together with Taylor Swift, Drake, and Olivia Rodrigo — from TikTok after negotiations to resume licensing agreements broke down this week. The earlier licensing settlement between UMG and TikTok expired on January 31st.

On Tuesday, UMG accused the video platform of making an attempt to bully it into accepting a “dangerous deal” that didn’t soothe the document labels’ considerations relating to satisfactory compensation for artists and songwriters, protections towards AI-generated music, and on-line security on the platform to guard artists from “hate speech, bigotry, bullying and harassment.” TikTok responded saying that it was “disappointing” that UMG had “chosen…
