TikTok and WeChat each managed to keep away from their Sunday bans

On Friday, it seemed just like the US was able to ban new downloads of TikTok and WeChat, two widespread China-based apps that the Trump administration warned posed safety threats to American customers. The Commerce Division issued an order that will have prohibited new downloads as of Sunday. And on Saturday WeChat specifically noticed a pointy uptick in new installs within the US, based on analytics platform Sensor Tower, with an 800 p.c week-over-week improve.
