Bloomberg reviews that Cruise, a self-driving firm collectively owned by GM and Honda, is in talks to accumulate the startup Voyage. Based 4 years in the past, Voyage is working to launch a self-driving taxi service on the Villages, a large retirement neighborhood in Florida.

Bloomberg says that “no deal is imminent,” and I haven’t got any inside info. However such a deal could be according to an ongoing pattern: it is changing into tougher and tougher for self-driving startups to stay unbiased.

Voyage was a part of a wave of self-driving startups that have been based between 2013 and 2018. Cruise itself was one of many earliest of those corporations; it was co-founded in 2013 by its present CEO Kyle Vogt. Others included nuTonomy in 2013, Zoox in 2014, Drive.ai, Optimus Experience, and TuSimple in 2015, Starsky Robotics, Nuro and Udelv in 2016, Voyage, Aurora, and Could Mobility in 2017, and Ike and Kodiak Robotics in 2018.
