Lockheed Martin and Boeing are near deciding on a purchaser for United Launch Alliance, two sources advised Ars. The collectively owned rocket firm, which was based in 2006 and for a time had a monopoly on US authorities launch contracts, has been up on the market most of this yr.
The sources say three patrons have emerged for the Colorado-based launch firm. These embody a personal fairness fund, the Jeff Bezos-owned house firm Blue Origin, and a well-capitalized aerospace agency that’s eager about growing its house portfolio.
