Lawsuit in opposition to Amazon alleging it failed to guard employees from COVID-19 moved again to NY state courtroom

A federal choose has granted the New York lawyer basic’s request to maneuver a lawsuit in opposition to Amazon again to New York state courtroom, Reuters reported. AG Letitia James’ lawsuit alleges that the ecommerce large failed to guard employees at its Brooklyn and Staten Island warehouses from COVID-19 in the course of the early months of the pandemic, and retaliated in opposition to staff who complained concerning the lack of security measures.

Amazon had sought to have the case moved to federal courtroom, arguing that office issues of safety weren’t beneath James’ purview. The corporate pre-emptively sued James on February 12th, and James sued Amazon 4 days later. Amazon then moved the lawsuit to federal courtroom.
