Intel’s {hardware} chief is leaving the corporate

The chief in control of nearly all of Intel’s {hardware}, chief engineering officer Dr. Venkata (Murthy) Renduchintala, is leaving the corporate on August third, Intel introduced on Monday.

His departure comes on the heels of Intel’s announcement that its next-gen 7nm chips are delayed till at the least 2022, and after years of delays for the corporate’s 10nm processors as effectively, which bottlenecked developments for a lot of the laptop computer trade. Intel didn’t cite a particular cause for Renduchintala’s departure.

Intel poached Renduchintala from Qualcomm in February 2016, and put him in control of all the things from the design to engineering to manufacturing of Intel’s chips — and different {hardware} bets — underneath one group, the Expertise, Methods…
