Intel is reportedly planning to construct a big chip facility in New Albany, Ohio, a suburb of Columbus, the state capital. An official announcement is anticipated on January 21.
The corporate reportedly plans to take a position $20 billion within the web site, and town of New Albany is working to annex as much as 3,600 acres of land to accommodate the power, in accordance with the Cleveland Plain Supplier, which first reported the deal.
Given the dimensions of the parcel and the power’s rumored price ticket, it’s possible the location of Intel’s “mega-fab,” which CEO Pat Gelsinger stated can be like “a little bit metropolis.” The mega-fab would comprise six to eight modules, he stated, and would concentrate on lithography processes and packaging strategies.
