Instagram sorry for translation error that put “terrorist” in Palestinian bios

Meta has apologized after a 404 Media report investigating a viral TikTok video confirmed that Instagram’s “see translation” function was erroneously including the phrase “terrorist” into some Palestinian customers’ bios.

Instagram was glitching whereas trying to translate Arabic phrases together with the Palestinian flag emoji and the phrases “Palestinian” and “alhamdulillah”—which suggests “reward to Allah”—TikTok person ytkingkhan stated in his video.
