‘I used to be instructed I don’t have the appropriate mind’: Learn the NYT’s damning report on Coinbase

Two days in the past, Coinbase did one thing we hardly ever see an organization do: it gave the world a heads-up that The New York Instances would quickly publish “a unfavorable story” about how “a number of Black staff had unfavorable experiences at Coinbase over the previous few years.”

Properly, Nathaniel Popper’s NYT story is now right here, and that description seems to be just like the understatement of the week: twenty-three present and former staff went on the file to assist produce a totally damning report about systemic racial discrimination on the firm. It contains passages like this:

One Black worker stated her supervisor instructed in entrance of colleagues that she was dealing medication and carrying a gun, buying and selling on racist stereotypes. One other stated a co-worker at a recruiting…
