
A bunch of Google contract staff who helped practice the corporate’s Bard AI chatbot and write Google Assist articles voted overwhelmingly to type a union on Monday. The employees, who’re contracted to work for Google by way of Accenture, unionized to safe higher working situations and protections.
The contractors will be a part of the Alphabet Staff Union, the labor group that represents staff at Google and its Alphabet guardian firm. They first began unionization efforts in June after they had been directed to work on the then-unannounced Bard chatbot. As a part of their efforts to assist practice the bot, they had been requested to “deal with obscene, graphic and offensive prompts,” in response to a report from Bloomberg.
