EVs are taking over combustion engines in a rallycross ‘Battle of Applied sciences’

After two seasons of all-electric racing, the World Rallycross Championship (or World RX) held its first combined powertrain races between electrical and inner combustion engine (ICE) automobiles this weekend in Höljes, Sweden. In contrast to conventional point-to-point rally racing, rallycross places these automobiles on a circuit, however with related racing over filth and gravel surfaces, in addition to loads of leaping and drifting by means of turns.

There have been six EVs and 4 ICE automobiles on this weekend’s races, and by the top of the primary weekend, EV racers took up three of the highest 5 spots within the provisional championship standings. Nevertheless, Johan Kristoffersson, who received the final two collection titles in electrical automobiles, put his inner combustion-powered Volkswagen Polo KMS…
