Elon Musk threatens to scrap Twitter deal over ‘breach’ of settlement

Elon Musk says that Twitter is in “clear materials breach” of their $44 billion acquisition deal and that he may “terminate” the settlement in response. In a letter despatched to Twitter this morning, Musk’s authorized workforce claims that Twitter has failed to offer him with data on the service’s spam bot drawback and that he’s entitled to obtain that data underneath the deal settlement.

“Mr. Musk believes the corporate is actively resisting and thwarting his data rights (and the corporate’s corresponding obligations) underneath the merger settlement,” the legal professionals write. The letter says Musk may select “to not consummate the transaction” due to the alleged breach of contract.
