Elon Musk says bots with ‘good content material’ can use Twitter’s API without cost

Elon Musk says Twitter will let bots offering “good content material” entry the Twitter API without cost. As famous in a publish on Twitter, Musk introduced that the platform will allow a “mild, write-only” API for eligible bots — a partial reversal of his coverage that places API entry behind a paywall.

After shutting down third-party purchasers, like Tweetbot and Twitterrific, Twitter introduced final week that builders will want to join a “paid fundamental tier” to entry Twitter’s API beginning on February ninth. On the time, Musk justified the transfer by saying that the free API is “being abused” by bot scammers and spammers, including that an round $100 per 30 days subscription “with ID verification” can “clear issues up enormously.”
