Cloudflare stated its Sunday morning outage affecting quite a few web sites was resulting from an IP outage by web service supplier CenturyLink. Based on a tweet from CenturyLink, all affected providers have been restored as of 11:15AM ET.

“Right this moment we noticed a widespread Web outage on-line that impacted many a number of suppliers,” a Cloudflare consultant stated in an e mail to The Verge. “This was not a Cloudflare-specific outage. Stage 3/CenturyLink was liable for an outage that affected many Web providers, together with Cloudflare. Cloudflare’s automated programs detected the issue and routed round them, however the extent of the issue required handbook intervention as nicely.”
