Apple will not restore iPhones marked as lacking

Apple Shops and approved service suppliers will not restore iPhones which have been reported as lacking by the GSMA system registry, in accordance with an inner memo obtained by MacRumors. The corporate now requires restore technicians to disclaim customers a restore in the event that they’re notified of its lacking standing within the MobileGenius or GSX methods they use to service clients.

The GSMA system registry is a database of system serial numbers with details about every system’s standing. For instance, if somebody stories their cellphone as stolen to legislation enforcement, the authorities might flag the system by GSMA, which may help restore suppliers establish a tool as lacking if it ever comes into their store.
